How to Prepare Bagala Bhath? – Viji’s Food Recipes


Vermicelli – 100 gm

Curds – 50 gm

Milk – 50 ml

Oil – 10 gm

Green Chillies – 3 gm

Ginger – 5 gm

Split black gram dal – 5 gm

Mustard seeds – 1 gm

Curry leaves – a little

Salt – to taste


Boil vermicelli. Mix with milk and curds.

Add salt, Curry leaves.

Heat oil. Add green chillies, ginger, black  gram dal and mustard seeds.

Pour over vermicelli. Mix well. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.

N.B: –  For the tempering mustard seeds, Bengal gram dal, red chillies, green chillies and ginger can be used instead. Fried nuts can also be mixed with the Bagala bath.
