How to Make Chocolate Cake? – Chocolate Cake Recipes


Chocolate Cake


Flour – 500 gm

Butter – 175 gm

Castor Sugar – 435 gm

Eggs – 4

Bicarbonate of soda  – 1 tsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Milk – 1/2 pint

Grated Chocolate  – 250 gms

Instant Coffee power – 1 tsp


Line  a 10 inch cake tin with greased paper.

Dissolve the grated chocolate in warm milk and keep aside to cool.

Cream together the sugar and butter till white and soft.

Sieve the flour with the salt and soda.

Beat the eggs, one at a time, into the butter and sugar, adding a bit of flour if there are any signs of curdling, stir in the remaining flour, alternating with the milk and chocolate.

Add coffee. Pour into cake tin and bake in a moderately hot oven for 45 minutes or until cooked.

Coat with chocolate icing if desired.
